Dr Michael Johnson is a consultant clinical neurologist at Imperial College Healthcare (Charing Cross Hospital) Trust. Dr Johnson has been on the GMC neurology specialist register since 1999 and was appointed consultant neurologist to the NHS in 2000. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians, Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians and is a Full Member of the Association of British Neurologists. His clinical practice is in general neurology and epilepsy. Dr Johnson has published over 35 research articles and book chapters in neurology and epilepsy and has lectured in neurology and epilepsy nationally (Association of British Neurologists and UK International League Against Epilepsy scientific meetings) and internationally (World Congress of Neurology, European Congress of Epilepsy and the American Epilepsy Society scientific meetings) among others. He leads or collaborates in over £2m of research in epilepsy funded by the UK Department of Health, UK Medical Research Council, the Welcome Trust as well as the Academic Health Sciences Centre at Imperial College Healthcare. He is a member of the International League Against Epilepsy (ILAE) Task Force on pharmacogenetics. He is a charitable trustee and sits on the scientific advisory board for the Brain Tumour Research Campaign (www.wayahead-btrc.org/) and is Editor of Current Medical Literature in Neurology. |
